Jewelry from Beads of Awareness, each piece is unique reflecting the uniqueness of every individual.

Beads of Awareness is a social business working to increase awareness about alternative development in Africa. As an active partner in Uganda, they works with jewelry artisans according to fair-trade practices to help support micro-finance initiatives and social responsibility across the globe. Beads of Awarness invests 50% of its profits in development projects in the Gulu district.

Their values are equity, sustainability and cooperation. The artisans making the jewellery are paid a fair wage and the beads themselves are made out of reused paper and are coated with a varnish making them water-resistant. Strong emphasis is placed on working with the people of Uganda, especially when it comes to the development projects.

Soren Jensen - painter

Soren Jensen is an artist who likes to observe, appreciate and try to understand the intricate world we all live in. For him, landscapes are an important reminder of the link between us and the natural world to which we are inextricably linked.

His fascination? Water. He is interested in the contrast between the sun’s glare and the darkness of the water as well as the translucence of the foliage which makes for striking effects that challenges the artist’s control of value and contrast. Soren has always desired to capture the illusive look of liquidity, interacting with both transparency and reflectivity; we think he’s getting pretty close.

Marianne’s new collection is now available !

Marianne is an artist originally from Casselman in Ontario who creates original jewellery made of new and recycled materials. She works mostly with iron and other various metals which she tastefully combines with sea glass, cut stones, pearls, buttons and even semi precious stones.
